About Us
BigBlock Datacenter was founded in 2017 with a vision: to position France in the global Proof of Work Bitcoin competition. But it is abroad, across 3 continents, that BBDC gained precious expertise in multi-site deployment. In 2021, leveraging this experience, we created BigBlock Green Services (BBGS), dedicated to the construction and operation of mining farms worldwide, followed by various local BigBlock companies in the countries where we operate.
Today, we bring together the communication activities of these companies under BIGBLOCK Group.
Our Decarbonized Energy Approach
We understood very early the challenges faced by hydropower producers: converting their surplus into revenue, without logistical complexity. Our answer? Turnkey containerized infrastructure, rapidly deployable on-site to consume excess energy and generate immediate value.
Our International Presence
Our first sites in Ukraine, Kazakhstan and Russia formed the foundation of our international expertise. These pioneering deployments taught us how to operate in diverse and demanding environments. Building on this experience, we now operate HPC data centers dedicated to Bitcoin mining in the Democratic Republic of Congo (Virunga National Park), Oman, Paraguay, Finland, and Congo Brazzaville. And we are not stopping there: Cameroon, Gabon, Angola… several new sites are currently under development.

Our technical expertise covers the entire lifecycle of mining infrastructure. From custom-designed HPC data centers to turnkey construction, we master every aspect of deployment. Our know‑how extends to daily site operations with continuous performance optimization, as well as preventive and corrective maintenance provided by teams trained directly by the manufacturers.

Sébastien visited Bitcoin mining facilities in Asia in 2015; he quickly realized that this new industry was the ideal client for electricity producers. Even better, it enables hydropower plants to convert surplus supply into tokens, making these traditionally slow‑to‑be‑profitable structures more efficient.

Jean‑François runs Icone Consulting, a company he founded in 2008, after beginning his career as an information systems/security project manager in a major French bank.
Adrien GOMBERT
Adrien is an entrepreneur driven by public‑interest initiatives. After 10 years as a project manager in the hospital sector, he views Bitcoin as the next major technological and social revolution since the Internet. After a few years trading cryptocurrencies, he decided to produce his bitcoins instead of buying them and built a mining farm near Pau.
Patrick BERNIER
Patrick has extensive experience in business management, particularly in the construction sector, where he spent 20 years. His collaboration with Sébastien on Bitcoin mining projects marked a turning point in his career, leading him to combine his management expertise with the opportunities offered by the Bitcoin mining sector.
